Dead & Company formed shortly after the surviving members of The Grateful Dead played their 50th Anniversary Farewell concerts in Chicago, called Fare The Well.  They had Trey Anistasio from Phish, Bruce Hornsby and Jeff Chimenti join them for their final 3 shows together.

Phil Lesh no longer wanted to tour and so Bobby, Bill & Mickey teamed up with John Mayer, Oteil Bubridge and Jeff Chimenti to form Dead & Company.  October 31, 2015 was start of the bands first tour and they have been out doing a summer and fall tour for the last couple years.

The opening night of the 2018 Summer tour was 5/30/2018 in Mansfield, MA at Great Woods.  You can click on the YouTube video above and watch the whole show for free.

The show was an amazing night of great tunes and the band were tight.  Early in the day I called tour opener to be Shakedown Street and sure enough they kicked it off right there.

First set was tight with some amazing versions of Tennessee Jed and Loose Lucy.  Some songs were set too slow and put me to sleep, but they made it up. Even Oteil looks ready for a nap during Birdsong.  Bobby sounded good early, sometimes a little gruff but always on with it. 

Second set kicked of with a Scarlet>Fire which is always a great was to start a set.  Honestly letting Oteil sing Fire was absolutely fantastic.  I really enjoy when they let him sing a tune and this was a great one for him to sing.  They jump in to Althea with John on vocals as usual and then an Estimated Profit, one of my favorite live songs to hear.  Eyes was fantastic great solos and quite nice.

Great show well worth watching it all and buying the download to listen to later on.

Belly was formed in 1991 when Tonya Donelly of Throwing Muses and Breeders decided she needed a new creative outlet for her dreamy pop style of music that was different from what Breeders had done.  Although they are all from Rhode Island, they are still known more as a Boston Based band. MASTERSYSTEM - "Dance Music"

Mastersystem is/was a new super group or something of that matter that just release their debut album "Dance Music" on Physical Education Records.  I do say is/was since the heartbreaking news that lead singer Scott Hutchison (Frightened Rabbit) ended his life last week in Scotland after suffering from depression.  This has been heartbreaking to me as I believe he had a lot more to offer us with his talent from the slow melodic/dark songs of Frightened Rabbit to this project which brought together members of FR, Editors and Minor Victories to play more guitar heavy with influences of grunge rock from the 90's. Mastersystem is made up of two sets of brothers, Scott Hutchison (Frightened Rabbit), Grant Hutchison (Frightened Rabbit), Justin Lockey (Editors) and James Lockey (Minor Victories).   Their debut album was released on April 6th, 2018 and they set out to do a mini 6 date tour of the UK  as well as a Performance on BBC Scottland's The Quay Ses...
